So… not quite as grim as it sounds… okay, yeah it totally is. It’s not a hard hoof like a cow you get, just the softer pad underneath… more like, err, a dogs paw! If only our emoji keyboard worked here; I’d be using that poor monkey hiding his eyes!
BUT if you’re the kind of amazing owner who is totally not bothered by gross stuff (or my favourite kind of owner; those who are bothered but order them anyway and tentatively hand them over wearing gloves because you love your pup so much) then these chews are incredible and I so, so, so recommend them!
Venison isn’t seen much in normal dog food so is classed as a ‘novel’ protein; basically most dog’s don’t eat it much and as such there’s a much lower chance of them having an allergy or reaction to it. I know Bob’s belly finds Venison one of the kinder treats so I choose to give him it more often than Beef.
Tendons are pretty chewy things and from what I can see, so are the weird hoof/pad bits at the bottom. For little dogs you’re onto a right winner here; this baby is going to last you a long, long time! Unfortunately labralovers like myself still haven’t found the holy grail of longevity here but it did take Bob about 20 mins so I’m relatively happy with that.
Unfortunately he keeps trying to nab off with them when I open the box… I’m guessing they’re a particular favourite now!
These guys are the ‘small’ version; I got them in as a trial. If they sell well I’ll look at stocking the medium and large versions too 🙂
I reckon you know the score by now! No plastic with these goodies! Individually packaged in a paper bag and cardboard box combo, they come in completely recyclable packaging. If you’re squeamish but interested in getting one for your dog, pop it in the comments and I’ll make sure I do an extra special safe job of wrapping so you can just pass them the bag and they can open it themselves 🙂
