Okay I have no idea who had the idea to take a load of lamb pizzles and plait the blooming things together, but that’s what they’ve done. If we choose to forget what they are and ignore how weird it is, these actually look quite nice!
These plaits are impressively long and pretty darn sturdy; Bob’s taken to choosing these as one of his top treats at the moment and they keep him quiet for a good 30 minutes (which is like 7 years in Labrador time when food is involved!). I’ve heard rumour they’ve lasted a cockapoo two days but I can’t promise this will happen for you!
Although long lasting, they’re softer than beef pizzle sticks so they’re a brilliant alternative for our older/gummier dogs or for teething puppies who want something to chew on as a bit of pain relief. These are absolutely brilliant for dental hygiene as they scrape plaque off as they’re being chewed, helping keep gums healthy and breath as fresh as it can be when you’ve just been chomping a plaited willy…! Better than sprat breath though, eh?!
Each plait is packaged in a recyclable paper bag or cardboard box to be transported to you. I’ll be honest, I had to find new boxes to fit these in because they’re so long!
