It’s that time of year once again; where we can show our love for the people special to us. However, it’s always seemed to me that our dogs get the short end of the stick on Valentine’s Day.
After all, isn’t your love for your dog worth celebrating too? They deserve as much attention as anyone else on this day! Regardless of what your significant other might think!
With this in mind, why not treat them to a cute Valentine’s Day dog date?
I’m going to take you through how to have that perfect date with your cute canine; or how to at least avoid embarrassing yourself!
Get Them All Dressed Up to Go!
If you’re looking to give your dog the date of a lifetime, it’s only fair that they dress for the occasion, right?
Or something like that; whatever excuse you need to dress your innocent pooch in the cutest clothing you can find!
There are quite a lot of options out there; not least of which is this cute bandana for the most dashing of dogs. Looking for something a bit more involved? You absolutely can’t go wrong with these little jumpers!
However, if your dog isn’t too big a fan of clothes, there’s nothing wrong with the natural look! No use stressing them before the big date.
Take Them on a Cute Walk Somewhere New!
I can’t think of a better way to start off a dog date; every doggo out there loves a good walk!
Mark the special occasion by taking them somewhere completely new, preferably a romantic setting. Perhaps the beach by the sunset, or the bright lights of the city at night…I can just picture it now!
But who are we kidding, your dog isn’t going to care really as long as they get to sniff and see the sights. At least we have the fact that they are so easily pleased on our side!
Regardless, try and make it a nice long walk for the special day.
Spend the Evening Back at Home
After that long walk, you’re both going to need a break to try and relax.
But that doesn’t mean the fun needs to stop!
Take this opportunity to use your best charms; and by that, I mean shower them in cuddles and gifts! No dog would ever say no to that.
If you’re hurting on ideas for cute dog gifts for Valentine’s Day, there’s some great stuff that you can find here, including some very cute personalised blankets to keep them warm during the tail end of the winter.
If All Else Fails, Reach Their Heart Via Their Stomach!
Okay, so maybe your Valentine’s Day dog date didn’t go to plan. That’s okay!
You still have a secret weapon to turn things around.
Which is, of course, the wonderful treats we offer here at Bob’s Treat Cupboard! There’s no quicker way to put a smile on a dog’s face!
If you’re unsure as to what treats you’d like to try, we’d recommend checking out the Birthday Box. It’s a gift set with all kinds of wondrous treats in them and works perfectly for Valentine’s Day.
I hope this rambling about Valentine’s Day dog dates was at the very least, fun to read. It was certainly fun to write! I’d like to hear what you all do for your dog’s on Valentine’s Day. How do you show your love and share in the fun of the occasion? Let us know in the comments!
